I just wanted to write and thank you for sharing your knowledge and imagination in these wonderful books. I have attached a couple of pictures of my adaptation of your Hobbit House featured in your book Treehouses and Playhouses...the directions and plans were really easy to follow and the illustrations awesome. I designed this one with the idea that when my 2 year old son gets bigger, the house can be moved and the whole Treehouse can turn into a boat...it took me about 3 weeks, working during nap times! A couple of years back, I purchased your book "Treehouses and Playhouses You Can Build," and I want to thank you for the insights,techniques and terrific illustrations and designs contained in this book. My daughter will turn 10 in June, and I've been able to keep my promise to her by building a treehouse for her 12 feet up in a Pecan tree in our back yard. We started together on it in February, and she's absolutely thrilled with progress thus far. The platform's finished and we'll be finalizing the design for the "house" part of it this weekend. Your book was the impetus - without it, I might not have known where to begin! Also, through this project, my daughter and I have worked together to plan and execute it. I see the sense of accomplishment and ownership that has instilled in her. A wonderful experience, viewed from any side.
